inspired by gifts from friends
June and Jim spent the night with us before travelling South after breakfast this morning. They came with news of our friends in Turriff, together with a copy of 'The Squeek', local honey, and butteries.
The newspaper included a charming photo of the four new 'Primary Ones' at Crudie School, where I taught. The butteries are a local delicacy, a little like squashed croissants, served regularly at local coffee mornings, and the honey was produced by the bees of our friend John Anderson.
Lovely reminders of everyday life spent in Turriff. Thank you, June and Jim.
