Back in rhythm

If my mom noticed that she hadn't seen me for five days, she didn't mention it. She said her usual "I'm ready to go" and "It's so nice to see you," so it all felt very regular. We went to Whatcom Falls park where she's still able to do all the stairs on one of the steeper loops, and then we sat by the pond and watched interesting duck behavior. At one point she was trying to tell me about something someone said at Silverado. It came out as "when we were saying prayers," and "he said it strangely," and "another man said it wasn't right," with a lot of ellipses between, before "I can't think anymore."  The gist seemed to be that everyone laughed at the end, so all's well that . . .
