Boiling the sap...

...like in the old days.

Today we all went to the sugar camp to help Louis with his operations. Two friends from Montreal are down for the week on vacation. We emptied the cans and on the picture, Louis and Benoit are doing the very first boil of the year. The sap did not run as expected this week, the weather was too cold.

We left them there late afternoon and came back with a small bottle of the first maple syrup of the year for tomorrow's breakfast.

Of course, we are going back tomorrow, this is so much fun and the weather is great.
