Our hottest day

A shady spot on the hottest day of the year so far - 22.8 deg C in the back garden - never seen the like!  We are having a superb summer, proper shorts and T shirt weather.  

Gardening and 'hen management' in the morning,  (the three of them can't be together because the speckledy one is hell bent on killing the white one, but as she is the only one laying just now, I am loath to dispatch her until the other two start laying again), followed by riding in the afternoon.  It was the first time since her hip replacement that H risked riding outside, with a short and gentle canter, and it went fine.   Also managed a couple of dog walks, with a bit of paddling thrown in!  

Knackered and ready for bed by 8pm as I had taken Jimmy to the airport at 6am for his hospital appointment!  This retirement lark is exhausting!
