Alice's Money

This won't mean much to anyone but my closest family but the little house-shaped money box belonged to my Great Auntie Alice and it lived at my Nan's house for when they had card nights.

When my brother & I were kids if we happened to be there we were allowed to play too and the pennies were shared round for games of Newmarket.

I haven't a clue how the game goes now but I do remember loving every minute back in the day even when Uncle Fred cheated! I remember Alice's lovely old yellow labrador too, she was called Candy.

(My mum gave me this today as she's having to have a clear out ready to move and there's not room to keep everything - she knew I couldn't bear to see her throw it away and it would be safe and loved!)
