Loch in full summer
Still a lovely day, more comfortable with slightly lower temperatures. Great for walking.
The swans have only four cygnets left out of seven, but they are thriving. The Slavonian Grebe was feeding her two chicks and the Goldeneye had four ducklings.
Up in the forest, many of the bog lochans had dried up but the deepest were abuzz with Four spotted chasers, mating, laying, chasing. There were plenty of damselflies too and, surprisingly, a pair of mating Whitefaced darters.
A lovely day!
