Moving!

As expected today has been crazy busy - the movers arrived at 8.15am and Thomas was up to meet them and let them in the house, as I was already at the other house before 8am to let the TV man in to get the TV's up and running there - which he didn't really, as he said installing the large flat screen TV was a 2 man job and he would come back on Friday with someone else. Duh, he knew he had to do that but anyway...he got the Sky connected to another TV and did some other stuff.

I think I did about 6 trips between the houses today, thankfully they are just over 2 miles apart, as we had deliveries all day there. The new furniture and soft furnishings are looking wonderful, but it is annoying how many things have arrived broken or damaged, and these are items from top manufacturers/suppliers. We have a new round wooden table for the hallway and the base has an enormous crack running through it - as Gavin said, that wasn't caused by just a bump, it looks like someone has dropped the table off the back of a truck from quite a height! It was on order for about 6 weeks so it has to be replaced and we will only get the replacement in August some time.

The movers did a great job today - two young lads who only did packing and wrapping and they were so fast and efficient. These are some boxes from one of my favourite rooms in the house, a room we will all miss so much - Murdoch is giving them a good sniff to work out what is going on. Unfortunately no time for any interesting photos today.
