Wildflower patch

A wild night last night - serious rain and thunder and lightening, but not as bad as Cornwall by the look of it.
The sun has come out and it's windy and fresher. This year I have abandoned the spud patch and put in some wildflowers as pollinators, and the poppies, cornflowers and large yellow things are doing very nicely. A speedy visitor alighted just as I clicked.

Last literary session for me tonight - an evening with Colm Tóibín, one of my very favourite authors. He can look a bit dour in his portraits so I'm interested to know what he's like in the flesh!

Tomorrow we are going off piste for a few days to darkest north Cork, a million wells on the agenda - Himself looking a little pale at the thought. We are staying in a shed bijou house somewhere in the hills below Doneraile. The forecast is mixed! One well is described as a muddy patch in the ground. Others have moved in umbrage!  And everywhere closes at 5pm. It will be grand! Catch you later.
