Songkran Day 1: Buckets & Buckets

Two years after my first Songkran experience I was back for another three days of water fights and celebrations for the Thai new year.

We got our guns set up and walked towards the busiest area. We were soaking wet within seconds. The weather was great and we got fully involved. It was amazing! There were lots of Thai ceremonies and dances going on amongst the mayhem of the water pistols and buckets.

Late afternoon we stopped for a few beers and met a group of Australians who we then met again after dinner for some buckets (of the drink variety). The bars and clubs have permission to stay open much later during Songkran and there were thousands of people out partying.
