Steaming
The Talyllyn Railway is the main reason behind my trip to Wales.
Described as "The World's First Preserved Railway" it runs from Tywyn Wharf station (pictured) up the Fathew Valley to Nant Gwernol.
I first became interested through a friend who volunteered here for many years but who passed away on Hogmanay. The people who run the Railway have arranged a memorial event for him on Saturday evening and a large turnout is expected.
I hope to have a few trips on the railway during my stay in Wales. It really is an excellent way to while away a few hours among the wonderful scenery.
