Duck!
I had lots of nicer photos today (despite having forgotten to bring the camera on hols and having to make do with my phone), but this one made me laugh. Toby had dug a huge hole in the beach and Mike came running across the beach yelling "duck Toby". Of course I didn't get a photo of that, but asked him to repeat several times whilst each time I missed the jump due to the shutter lag or pressing it too early to account for it!
This morning didn't start too well. Charley had been sick in the night. He sleeps on the drivers seat of the van under Eva's bunk. We thought he'd just done it in his blanket which was easily sorted but when we came to drive away we realised not. It was all down the side of the seat between the seat and the door. Eugh! Not an easy place to clean it up. I had taken the kids to brush their teeth when Mike discovered this. When I got back I found he'd trodden in dog poo and not realised and then trodden it all through the awning and into the carpet as into the van as well! It stank. So we had to hose off the awning carpet near the toilet block and scrub the camper van carpet. Horrible! Time consuming. Not what we needed this morning!
We drove out to St Governs head. There's a funny little church there built into the cliff face. The kids loved it. We walked up the headland but couldn't see a thing as the mist and drizzle had set in. Cos tell there was some stunning scenery behind the fog!
Then we went to Stackpole quay for a national trust cream tea -stale scones :0( and a walk over to Barafundle bay. Wow what an amazing beach. Absolutely incredible scenery. Think it's one of the nicest beaches I've been to. And the sun came out!
We couldn't be bothered searching for somewhere to have dinner so we went back to the Stackpole Inn for dinner. Another great meal.
On the way home they'd opened the road past the artillery range to go as look at the sea stacks and green bridge. Absolutely stunning.
