Coastal.....

....it was a 'batten down the hatches' kind of day. 

A dim view greeted us this morning which gradually became worse with rain lashing at the windows and wind howling round the house. The sea became rough and choppy, no ships could be seen coming in to port or leaving. 

I'm now in the Eastern Bay of Plenty at Mount Maunganui where the next significant weather pattern is really taking a grip. Nice to be warm and cosy inside and great to catch up on some backblips, not much sightseeing done today.

As I type at 5pm, the weather has taken a turn for the worst, thoughts of going out for dinner is just not worth thinking about, we'd be drenched before getting into the car.

Tomorrow we move on and will be in the final stretch of our holiday, hope the weather improves.
