Thorpeness

A very quirky village just north of Aldeburgh with a great history. It's tiny but full of lovely houses and the house in the clouds just seen above the trees. This is the meare and it was specially made for children to have adventures, the boats are named after the children of the people who made it. Couldn't resist this shot although my name doesn't have an i in it. We had a lovely short walk down the coast avoiding the 4 coach loads of school children. We had a lovely lunch then walked to find the house in the clouds see extra. The clouds were gathering and we just made it back to the car before the lashing rain. All the children and helpers poured off the beach soaking wet. We had a quiet afternoon then back into Aldeburgh for fish and chips for tea when the sun came out.
The lanes around where we are staying are covered in sand and today there are deep sandy puddles, my poor car is in desperate need of a clean it's covered in sand now. Home tomorrow, we've had a fabulous week.
