We are a cliff

Or at least the gulls are under this illusion.

The noise large, hungry fledglings and defensive anxious parents make is phenomenal.

There is no need to bother with a ferry to Inchcolm if you want to experience the thrill of being dive-bombed by an adult gull.

And no need to travel to the Seabird Centre in North Berwick if you want to observe parent-child relations in the gull family. Here is the fledgling who couldn't keep its grip on the slippery tiles of the Paterson's Land roof, and doesn't have the strength yet to take off from the ground and get back up to the safety of the family nest.
