I Don't Know What It Is Either
At 6.30 pm I felt inspired to go back to the poppy field to try out some intentional camera movement and multi exposure in camera. A good opportunity to get Basil out too who was sulking because no one had taken him for a good run.
Len kindly drove us up to Tickow Lane. I got the camera out, fitted the nd filter and started experimenting with multi exposure settings.
It wasn't really necessary to try out ICM as the breeze was strong meaning that the poppies were moving of their own accord.
I think I understand better now what Doug Chinnery meant by saying he just points his camera in a general direction and hopes for the best.
The camera was in dark blending mode. The black bits in the photo really were dark. The gold toned areas were areas of bright foliage that overlapped in the three photos that made up the shot. The red is, poppies. Very few flowers remain.
You can make out poppy stalks and seed heads.
I think I've seen photos of tapestry or something like it, resembling this.
I just have to keep practicing and experimenting.
