The Keep @ Porchester Castle

A beautifully preserved castle that seems to have been here forever ( well, something since Roman Britain anyway ).

A fascinating exhibition about the castle's previous life as a PoW prison - notably for prisoners from the Carribean during the Napoleonic wars. 

Quite impressed at the degree of humanity offered by the British in the 1700s - an effort was actually made to make prisoners comfortable.
