Beautiful Lake Kachess set deep within the Cascades with a backdrop of the mountains...waters of aqua and douglas fir filling the forest with the richness of fallen needles on the forest floor.  Ofactory explosion...it's that smell ...pine smell...fir smell....it's almost immediate when you open the windows and inhale as you begin to breath more fully.  I love love that forest smell....funny how in the northern woods of Maine I smelled what was like pencil shavings to me....I think all the white birches there...here it's the evergreens.....all so very refreshing and where this day was spent.
