Mature glory.

I grew this bottle brush from seed but didn't know how to prevent it from growing 'leggy'. Last year I cut the tops off the branches and I've been gently pruning backwards ever since. Today the sun caught the mature leaves and revealed their solid red against the new leaves' translucent pink.
