Jacobaea vulgaris ...

... is the scientific name for a very common wild flower (native to Northern Eurasia), growing in dry, open places. It has also been widely distributed as a weed elsewhere ... yes, even in my backyard ... which is not a dry open place ... on the contrary ... ;-)


One of the common names is ragwort or common ragwort and a lot of other names, with and without smile, can be found here.
