Where To Next?
This Brown-crested flycatcher was spending some time on the tip-top of the ocotillo. I often wonder what goes through a bird's mind when they perch for a while. Are they simply resting or are they looking for something? If it was Zippy, my guess would be that he has found a resting spot where he could monitor activity at his feeder. I suppose a hawk would be surveying for its next meal. It's the others which pique my curiosity.
I bought a new water dish to supplement the originals. This one is rectangular. I placed it a couple of feet away from the yellow one. So far, the birds seem a little befuddled. Only a few have sipped; most have gone straight to the original.
