thistle after rain

The amount of growth the vegetation on the West Coast undergoes in a short time is quite amazing and since our last visit, several thistles have appeared, several taller than me.
this one looked particularly cool after the light drizzle around midday, so I took this with the macro.
Not sure what the delicate webbing is.
