Old 3642
Over this weekend the NSW state railways were celebrating 150 years of rail services from Sydney to the Blue Mountains. This Sunday was the day that the heritage train reached Katoomba, pulled by the grand old 3642, one of the last remaining 36 class steam locomotives still operational. The 36 class and the slightly larger 38 class locos had been the mainstay of the NSW railways during the final years of steam. Helluva shame it's all gone now.
