Looking for flowers on the machair

The machair is looking very pretty with a wide range of flowers, the array of colour reminded me of walking through a field as a child. It was beach clean day and after looking for this gentian we wandered off to designated job. It felt good picking up the small shreds of blue string and bits of plastic; to be fair I had to hunt for the rubbish, the beach didn't look in a state, I'm sure due to a regular tidy by locals and visitors. The feel good factor - a mini one - was preventing these bits from washing out to sea again. I read this morning a lorry load of rubbish is tipped into the oceans every minute.

The weather was glorious and after the work a slice of wonderful coffee cake and cup of tea. Friends of Calgary are doing a great job.
