Calne (Sunday 23rd July 2017)

If I see a heron it's more than likely to be top contender for a blip. I surprised this one as I was walking through the nature reserve at the side of the Wilts and Berks, and it flew up from the canal in front of me but was behind trees before the autofocus had locked on to it.

Later, it had looped back and was on the canal close to Chaveywell Bridge. I didn't have a long lens with me (of course) and it flew off again when it saw me, so this is the only sharpish shot I got, as it was taking off.
