Poppies weeping window

the poppy exhibition that is touring the UK from its origins at the Tower of London in 2014, has reached Derby. We wandered down to the Silk Mill to see it today as it will be dismantled next week.

We had forgotten that it was also the Jenson Button triathlon in Derby and found a few roads closed. The extra shot is of the junior cycle race which preceded the triathlon, taking advantage of the road circuit. 

The afternoon was spent glued to the tv watching the Open. I had Speith down to win easily today. He won but he sure made it more exciting that I thought it would be. I had written him off at the 13th and then he morphed into a new player and he just blew the course and the rest of the field away.
