An ordinary life....

Rain, Rain go away!

Backblip

A lazy morning for D and I and our pal Peter.  Not worth rushing to get up and dressed as the weather was awful.  We did have full cooked breakfast to look forward to and David lost no time in getting all bacon, sausage, eggs, potato scones and black pudding on the go.

We sat at the kitchen table, enjoying breakfast and watching the Open.  I am not a fan of Rory McIlory (due to how he's treated past girlfriends) so every time he made a duff shot or dropped a point I celebrated.

Once the breakfast dishes were cleared away, I walked passed the Aga and commented to Peter that I could still smell something cooking.  It was very puzzling.  Then Peter's eyes widened and he looked at me and said one word - sausages!  I opened the Aga oven door and sure enough, looking rather overdone, was the grill pan of sausages that David had forgotten to dish up with the rest of the breakfast goodies.!  I can't believe we didn't notice!   Best butcher's sausages too.

I gave David a right ribbing about it but he soon shut me up with a well timed reminder of the homemade banoffee pie, sans bananas, that I served up to the Blip Girls.  Touché my sweet.

With the weather being so miserable, heading outside for photography wasn't an attractive proposition, so I took a quick shot of the flowers Tanya brought earlier in the week instead, and we installed ourselves back in the garden room, watching the golf and dozing off.  Well I did.  I'm such a great hostess - not -  but Peter is well past the stage of being considered a guest.  After all this time he is now an honorary family member.

Scones with jam and cream pepped us up a bit mid afternoon and afterwards I put Peter to work trying to sort out problems on my laptop and   by jove I think he's sussed it!  I also got to have a go of his new camera (well new to me, he's had it a little while now) and was very impressed.

We had dinner, watched the end of the golf (well done Jordan) and an array of comedy programmes, dipping in and out as chat allowed.

At a convenient break during an episode of QI, Peter decided was time to head home and get organised for work tomorrow.   The weekend had gone by in a flash.

As ever P, it was great to see you and have a proper catch up.  I promise it won't be so long till our next get together.
