Isla and the Globe Artichoke

Grandchildren Isla and her big brother Callum are here for a couple of days during their summer holiday - Isla is seen here looking up at my Globe Artichoke which I bought as a small plant from the garden centre.

I have never had one before and had no idea they grew so big - it must be at least 8 feet tall and still growing. Globe Artichoke pickers must be very big people !!
