Cleaning up the shed...

Found one of these, when cleaning up the shed with gardening tools of my grandparents home. This is definetely not machine made. unfortunately the tool became the habitat of some wood worms. Any idea how to get rid of them? I heard about applying some kerosene. Any help welcome.
