Wood-Burning Art

My neighbor has discovered (ie. he saw it on the internet) that using a very high voltage/low amperage current and some amended water he can make interesting burn patterns on the surface of pine boards.  This picture was taken a few seconds after he flipped the switch and it was cool to watch the tree-branch like pattern form.
This is not something I would do in my garage.

On a sad note, two people were drowned last night in the floods just a few miles north of my town.  Their van slipped into a flooded creek and rolled over and over and over.  The driver's body was recovered but they're still looking for the passenger.
