On the Wild Ground

Today after doing a few jobs at home, I went out for a walk up to the Carlton shopping centre, to visit the shoe shop up there. I ended up getting some trainers to walk around in, as I only have my work shoes that haven't worn through on the sole, or shrunk in the rain! I do a lot of walking and tend to go through shoes quickly!

I walked across the Wild Ground to get there. It is the very wild ground these days. The pathways are still there, but thorns and nettles have grown so much they hang over them, and it's quite hard to walk across. I saw several small, pretty butterflies, but they weren't settling. The bees were taking the pollen from the thistles, and looked like they were having a good day!
