Hidden City Corner
Bangkok is a surprising city. In the past, it was nicknamed 'The Venice of the East'. There are still khlongs (canals) everywhere. Today, I had to go to a downtown area called Ekamai. I could have chosen to get there by metro (MRT) and then the Skytrain (BTS). Some more, I would have had to take a taxi to get to my destination.
Instead, I chose a shortcut and more adventurous way. I took a taxi-boat on Khlong Saen, which is a major canal going from East to West. Then, I walked through a series of sois (alleys) and found this delightful canal in a residential area surrounded by skyscrapers!
