Jaakko’s Day stone to cool waters

Finnish legend has it that on Jaakko’s naming day, 25 July, Jaakko throws his stone into the water and swimmers start to feel autumn’s chill. However, this summer hasn't been too warm, so lake water is not very warm either. Normally surface waters tend not to cool until August.

We visited Nauvo today and had sunny sea side lunch at Najaden. These horses pasture near our Villa Walden.
