An Onion By Any Other Name

Despite the dull day, honey bees were mobbing these glorious Alliums in the  gardens of Delapré Abbey, Northampton.


Founded in 1145 as a nunnery, the abbey has just undergone refurbishment thanks to Heritage Lottery Funding, meaning parts of it are now open to the public. The extensive meadows and gardens surrounding it have always been open to the public.


There's a much improved café where I had rosehip and rhubarb cake - unusual and delicious.
