Market Shopping, Singapore
Day 27
A slower day to catch up after our Vietnam travels.
Up early, to go with J to the local market. I was the only western person in the place, so several stall holders were asking J about her guest. Some offered me fruit to sample. Carrot cake for breakfast - this is a fried vegetable.
So many different fish, live frogs, black chicken. Seriously long green beans, tiny limes, vegetables stuffed with fish paste. Everything is very fresh. I bought some dried goods to bring home. I liked the chicken stall. The man in the light blue shirt takes the orders, he seems quite a character.
Mall shopping in the afternoon, bus travel went well, they run exactly to time ... if only in Glasgow.
A 6K brisk walk along the Park Connector at dusk. 33C, too hot for running. Lots of flags going up for National Day celebrations on 9 August. Many planes in the air, rehearsing for the events.
We had the fish for dinner, with a Thai sauce, using chillies freshly cut from a plant in the garden. Delicious.
