Beet it

Been wondering what this preponderance of greenery is on my recent walks. On closer inspection it turns out to be sugar beet. The leaves are a luxuriant green and the beet roots are getting enormous. Just a shame it can't be picked and used as a vegetable as i think I might have dug up a few by now (don't tell the farmer!!)
