Lundy!
We got there at last. Up at 3am for a 4 hour drive to Ilfracombe to meet up with SiL, BiL and Niece O on the quayside. While our bags were hoisted into the ship's hold the braver and hungrier tucked into coffee and pasties. MV Oldenburg was allegedly designed to transport butter up and down Norwegian fjords. Not to deal with the bumpier challenges posed by conditions in the Bristol Channel. Two hours of unrestrained pitching and rolling wasn't exactly the optimal start to the holiday but after our stomachs had stopped turning somersaults and we'd climbed up to the village we started to really get into the holiday spirit and feel really, REALLY glad that we'd come.
