Jolly japes on Puffin Island

In Old Norse 'lundi' means Puffin. 

We are now feeling completely like the Famous Five. Even though there are 8 of us and dogs aren't allowed on the island. The weather has been better than glorious ever since we arrived. I have to keep pinching myself to check I'm not dreaming.

More letterboxing adventures today. Lots of walking, talking, seal spotting and generally realising how wonderful it is to be unplugged from normal life. While we were packing for the holiday W was asking how many pairs of binoculars we might need (we've inherited many pairs from his father who appears to have a bottomless collection) and the children were baffled as to why anyone would ever need even one pair of binoculars. Now they are queuing up for/fighting over the two pairs we eventually took. Five hours solid walking today was followed by a slap up feast with lashings of ginger beer in our cottage and then a football match which bore strong similarities to a caucus-race. 

I am starting to think that three days won't be nearly enough time to enjoy this amazing place.
