Milky Way over Blandswood

Another gorgeous, dark starry night.

This shot didn't go exactly to plan unfortunately, as I got my timing all out. I was hoping that I was going to be able to capture the galaxy lower in the sky, but I got down to my shooting spot too early (just after midnight). I'll need to come back better equipped  - i.e. with lots more layers on, thicker socks,  something better to illuminate the foreground - another time later at night/earlier in morning, depending on how you look at it.

Still, whets the appetite for the final, improved version I suppose...!
