Diamonds

Once Upon A Time, a Princess married a King who was famous for his wisdom and for his diamonds though, in truth, she had seen little evidence of either. On the morning after her wedding night, the Princess, now the Queen, asked her King about his diamonds and, in answer, he took her to the tree that grew in the centre of the castle's courtyard. Every leaf of the tree glittered with a diamond of dew. The Queen smiled at this first sign of the King's wisdom. And decided to leave him immediately.

And then she looked more closely and saw that the diamonds of dew were, in fact, diamonds - individually stuck to the leaves. And, with this first sight of the King's diamonds, she decided to love him immediately.
