Mint Moth (Pyrausta aurata)

A day at home, but it was cold and windy, with some rain, so indoors jobs were carried out today. Florence did go out onto the balcony, but soon came in again. As usual Dougal was in and out as many times as someone would open the door for him. He did catch a mouse, which Florence promptly ate, while he had his “Dreamies” treats.

Today’s picture was taken in some of the deliberately left wild parts of our garden. There were a lot of bees and insects as well as a great many Mint Moths on the Water Mint flowers, but no butterflies. The wind was not helpful when trying to take pictures of them, but today’s picture is of a tiny Mint Moth (Pyrausta aurata) on some leaves.
