Cleome

We bought this Cleome (Cleome hassleriana) at the start of the summer from a stall outside a house alongside the A272, before we had any idea what the flowers would look like. Since then, in our garden, it has produced this impressive (and long-lasting) flowerhead, seen here in this evening's light rain.
