Imagine...
Imagine me and you, I do
I think about you day and night, it's only right
To think about the girl you love and hold her tight
So happy together
A little tune I've been humming to myself all afternoon. Nothing like experiencing an abundance of insect porn to make a little love song pop into your head. Right?
A totally wonderful outing with my naturalist group this morning at Blue Mountain Lake. It seemed like the butterflies and dragons/damsels were all busy on future generations and I scarcely knew where to point my lens. Ultimately I chose this shot because of the perspective. Usually when one photographs mating dragons, one tries to catch a side view showing the "ring". However, while I did get plenty of shots from that viewpoint, this is the one I liked the best.
I've posted 7 other shots, including a more traditional view of this pair of Calico Pennants, starting HERE on Flickr. Mostly insects along with a lizard and a mushroom.
Didn't get home until mid-afternoon so no time out in the garden today. However, my two biggest monarch cats assumed the J position last night and around 5 this evening, they both transformed into chrysalids. Hubs and I got to see both of them change - I've got to tell you, it never gets old. It has to be one of the most amazing things in nature. I did a 3 minute video two years ago of the transformation - if you have time, it's worth a look and can be seen HERE on Flickr.
Tomorrow I'll spend some time in the garden. I need to remove some vetch grass that is trying to take root in my new garden, as well as some knapweed. And I should probably plant some of the rudbeckia...
Thanks for the love on yesterday's tiny hummingbird.
