Disorient

Took the day off work to get a few things done; primarly to get the 50D off to the camera hospital in Glasgow as it has went all Error 30 (google it..) on me. Turns out it needs a new shutter. This I was expecting as I had googled it, but I've hung about klankies (mechanical engineers) long enough to know that the MTBF (google that yourself) should be more than two years after purchase and more than 15 to 20k actuations. I asked the tech at the place if he could give me the exact actuations on the shuttter, he replied, "we can, but Canon have asked us not to...." mmmm smells like a fookin' huge rat cadaver that..... time to go Sale Of Goods Act (1979) on the muthafuckas...

Meanwhile the day was very sunny, took the bike out early doors for a bracing run though Denny and Plean, went to the tip to get rid of another garage full of packaging (how much do I spend on polystyrene every year?), took the train to Glasgow with Dawn, had a very excellent lunch in Jamies.... I could eat deep fried risotto balls until I'm 25 stone, and will be hard pushed to beat that vongole, it's a middle class Frankie and Bennys but so what....

Had a wee bit of time to kill so wandered into GoMA. Years ago they used to have loads of Salgados and HCB's as well as various Warhols and Beryl Cook's and stuff in the downstair gallery. This time it was an audiovisual art piece. I wasn't impressed, I was in the mood for some fine bits of photography, but I really enjoyed it. I can kinda get what she was on, but sometimes you just have to park the art bullshit talk and go with the flow.


Had some comms with "The Mentor", time to put together some arty bullshit of my own....

Addendum: 84 grand.... I'm in the wrong game....
