Up the Dictators
So, went to Glentress today with for a spot of mountain biking action Bri and Rick in the wind and light rain. The weather wasn't nearly as bad as predicted by the doom merchants.
However, it was icy. The access road was like an ice rink. The ice had formed and then there had been a load of freeze/thaw and then it had rained. It was very, very, very slippery. At this point Rick's bike gave up and he had to free wheel back down to the cafe.
As we started our climb up the trails it was clear that the exposed corners of the trail were also icy. Quite a few of them so icy that we had to get off and walk. Well I say walk, but it was more like breakdancewithbike.
Bri and I made it to the top car park and then came down the blue and red run back to the centre. A great couple of runs, but probably not as far as either of us would have liked to ride today. But the tea and cake almost made up for it.
Then it was back to Rick's for dinner with H and Mrs42 (and very nice it was too).
This is Rick's set of finger puppet dictators. But can you name them? A blip mention for the first right answer :-)

LOTD: Live for the moment's "people come people go" blip - great angle and perspective.
