Lightweight
2nd day at Silverstone.
Took over an hour to travel four miles to get into the event today. Not impressed with the traffic management so I think we'll need to leave even earlier tomorrow to try to avoid queues.
Aside from that had a great day wandering around the car clubs, stalls and paddocks. Didn't manage to catch much of the racing but that will be our focus for tomorrow.
Highlight of the day was sitting in the etype overlooking the track when a gent knocked on our window. He wanted to talk to us about the car. Turns out he owned it for a few years in the late 60's whilst courting his wife to be. He sold it to purchase a lightweight etype (not this one) to kickoff his racing career which sounded fairly successful. He has some photos to send us & recalled a story about someone dancing on the roof of the car! Look forward to seeing them.
Weather not looking great for tomorrow so we will no doubt be seeking shelter in the grandstands and car. Brollies and waterproofs at the ready!
