Ramblin' Man!
We attended this on just the Sunday last year but enjoyed it so much we bought this year's weekend pass two days later!
There are 4 stages, many food, drink and merchandise stalls and a few other bits and pieces of entertainment so there's never a dull moment.
We were mostly able to dodge the rain until about 5pm when we had no choice but to get out in it as there was a band we really wanted to see ( Broken Witt Rebels ) on the Uprising ( new, less we'll know bands ) stage. Our two friends hadn't seen them before so it was a relief that they too were blown away by their performance, as we'd dragged them out of the cosy ( well, dry! ) Outlaw tent to see them. We bought 6 CD's and a t-shirt after the set and told the guys how fab they are! They were very humble, and knocked £5 off the t-shirt for Sav as he only had a £10 note on him! I was at the opposite end of the merch table buying 3 cd's, so they still got more money off us than any one other stall!
Got to chat with another band ( Bad Touch ) too, and Wyatt, the Planet Rock dj that I listen to in the mornings.
Bands we saw today:
Xander & The Peace Pirates
Caitlin Koch
Toseland
Whiskey Dick
Reef
Bad Touch
Steve'n'Seagulls
Broken Witt Rebels
Black Star Riders
Extreme
All those for £55 ( w/e tickets were £109 each ). For each band we were watching there were 3 others playing on other stages, so always something to see.
Thank goodness we're not camping and have warm, dry student accommodation rooms to sleep in!
It's now early Sunday morning, I've been awake since 5am, so thought I'd do something useful and catch up on my entries, so you've a few back blips to flick through if you've the energy. I'd like you to see my new mug at least ...
