Golden Trumpet Tree Heralds Aussie Spring
This wonderfully bright, sunny tree (Markhamia lutea) throws out its bunches of mini trumpets before the leaves develop. It reminds me of some of the flowering cherry trees beloved of gardeners in England - though those are mostly in shades from pale pink through to dark cerise.
There are quite a few of these in and around Maleny - I had a walk around the central part of this little town this morning though it was too hot and humid to be comfortable outdoors for long. I spotted this one down someone's driveway so I snuck down like a spy to blip it.
