Peat Cutting

In the hills above Cunningsburgh there is a strange sight. The landscape is subject to industrial peat cutting and once raised  it is left out to dry until being bagged up for sale. All the peat here is very dry which makes me wonder if it was cut last year. The traditional peat cutting still takes place with two or three industrial operations.
