Blip 1600 - I couldn't resist

I know I have blipped this fly before, but I really couldn't resist blipping it again.
This is Phasia hemiptera, a very beautiful tachinid fly. it is sexually dimorphic with the males (like this one) having beautifully coloured curved wings.
Like all tachinids it lays its eggs on other insects, leaving the larvae to eat the host as it develops, in this case the Forest bug in spring and the Green shield bug in autumn.
Just in case you find this beauty too disgusting I have added a shot of a male Holly blue in my extras, just one of the 12 species of butterfly I also saw, - was a good day, which was just as well as this is my 1600th blip!
