Shrapnel
This is the resting place , in the Norman Church in Bradford upon Avon, of the man who invented the Shrapnel Shell.
This was an anti personal munition which carried a large number of bullets which when close to a target were ejected to allow them to strike the target individually. They have been obsolete since the end of World War 1. The name has however corrupted to refer to lethal fragments of casing of shells and bombs. So now you know!
